Welcome to Pacific Northwest NAVHDA

A volunteer-led organization dedicated to training and testing versatile hunting dogs.

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association is a community of bird hunters and versatile hunting dog enthusiasts who aim to develop our dogs into exceptional hunting companions through training and performance testing.

Training

The PNW Chapter hosts volunteer-led training days and seminars throughout the spring and summer. These are intended to equip you with knowledge, resources, and opportunities for training your own dog. Birds are occasionally available for purchase by club members. We welcome all pointing breeds and handlers regardless of experience level.

Testing

NAVHDA hunt tests are held on select weekends in the spring and summer. Tests include the Natural Ability test for puppies, the Utility Preparatory Test for dogs in development, and the Utility Test for finished gun dogs.

Membership

Chapter membership includes access to training resources and priority access to hunt test signup. NAVHDA International membership is required for chapter membership. PNW NAVHDA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
