PNW NAVHDA Main Region Advanced Training Program
The Pacific Northwest NAVHDA Chapter Main Region 2019 Advanced Training Program will begin February 9th, 2019. This training is designed to help support those participants specifically interested in NAVHDA testing in the Natural Ability, Utility Prep, (UPT), Utility, (UT) and Invitational tests. We want participants to be serious about running their dogs in the NAVHDA testing system. NAVHDA tests are designed to test hunting scenarios and a UPT / UT trained and tested dog is an excellent hunting companion that hunts in cooperation with their handler. This training program is not for those who aren’t serious about testing their dogs in NAVHDA tests. Great hunting dogs are a result of much time and effort devoted to training. It has been our experience that with the efforts of the owner and support from our training team, the dog and handler can become true partners in the field.
On Saturday, February 9th, we will host a HANDLER ONLY (please leave your dogs at home this time), orientation to the UT/UPT/NA test. We will discuss the test requirements and demonstrate each phase of the test. Review the foundation skills: heel, whoa, sit, stay, come, force fetch. Dog’s and handlers interested in UT/UPT testing should be able to demonstrate the foundation skills in March. Please bring a chair.
